Lakeland Broadcasting's Hot AC station, KQIC FM/Q102, is seeking talent in Willmar, Minnesota, where the lakes begin. We are now accepting applications for an afternoon drive personality. We have a powerful group of stations with Hot AC, Country, Classic Hits, and News/Talk formats.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: We're looking for an afternoon drive personality ready to connect with and entertain our audience. Are you a passionate story teller who can engage listeners and grow audience? Afternoon drive is on-air weekdays from 3 pm - 7 pm. Other responsibilities include: social media with emphasis on Instagram, promotional appearances/live broadcasts with the ability to interact with clients and listeners. Creating and adding content to station websites/social media, copy writing, production, recording clients, voice tracking shift for sister station and other responsibilities as assigned. Regular weekday hours and scheduled weekend shift every other weekend.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must have excellent social media skills, good computer, communications and social networking skills. Must relate and connect to the audience with an interest in becoming involved in the community. This position requires an articulate, creative self-starter with a professional attitude and engaging personality that attracts listeners. EDUCATION: High School diploma, secondary education preferred and on-air experience preferred.

Job Overview This position is responsible for the strategic vision and execution of the programming format. The position also has the ultimate responsibility of setting policy, management of programming personnel for the station and budget functions. Job Responsibilities Set programming and operational policy and strategic mission for radio station. Ensure execution of policies, goals and action plans are enacted by communicating to appropriate individuals. Held accountable for results. Study and plan for future station programming and operations. Responsible for the day to day programming. Analysis and interpretation of data and research. Evaluate whether changes to work are needed and how to communicate such changes. Develops maintain, administer and take ownership of budget. Work with and provide direction to programming employees and others on solutions in programming related areas. Work closely with General Manager to develop the programming and products needed to achieve revenue budgets. Build synergy with digital staff to provide digital extensions through the website and social media. Work closely with General Manager and Sales Department to create and execute successful on-air promotions. Knowledgeable of and applies as needed all current FCC rules and regulations. Work closely with Engineering staff in overseeing the technical and audio components in regards to station function and sound. Provide direct supervision of programming employees in the following ways: Develop strong Programming Department through applicable training, evaluation, and daily contact with employees; Train and teach staff; Consult and collaborate with VP/GM and others in management in the areas of personnel, recruitment, hiring and development of personalities and other staff; Conduct performance reviews regularly and timely; Critique and provide performance feedback to each assigned employee on a regular basis; Address performance issues as needed; Guide staff and act as a resource for staff on issues they may have; Resolve departmental conflicts as needed; Issue discipline when warranted; Make employment termination decisions with consultation with appropriate VP/GM, Controller and Corporate Human Resources or Legal; Develop, write and update programming job descriptions as needed. Work cooperatively and collaboratively with engineering, production and sales departments as well as others. Acts in a professional manner when representing each station. Represent station at various events.

Qualifications 3-5 years as a successful Program Director. Experience in a supervisory position preferred. Proven ability to function effectively under deadlines and in high-pressure situations. Operating knowledge of digital radio automation systems. Thorough understanding of FCC guidelines regarding compliance with rules including indecency, profanity, payola/plugola, and contesting. Ability to bring out and understand the station's overall programming objectives and philosophies. Exercise discretion and good judgment. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals. Quick and clear thinking required. Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor. Job Overview This position is responsible for the daily preparation of the commercial/program log including log editing and commercial spot placement so as to maximize station revenue and minimize loss, and performing continuity duties. Job Responsibilities On a daily basis, place spots on logs by maximizing commercial inventory following philosophies set forth by General Manager. Review and audit day parts as far into the future as possible. Responsible for daily preparation of the program/commercial log using prescribed broadcast software. Edit log so that it is error free. Ensure each commercial spot placed does not have a product conflict, is airing within the correct time period and order/advertiser separation guidelines are followed. Ensure program information is accurate and specific conditions are met. Communicate inventory problems to the Controller and General Manager. Create programming formats in a timely manner and enter new program information into system based on program orders received. Schedule formats onto each station's log. Follow processes to alert account managers that advertisers may need to be moved due to program changes, change orders when spots meet new program criteria, or pre-empt spots when they do not. Review master programming schedule and compares with logs. Check the log formats with automation formats for breaks, barters, segments and timings when necessary. Ensure that logs are 100% accurate and contain specific information including sponsorships, promos, tied events and IDs. Assign episode numbers to programming on the logs from the schedule provided from the Programming Department. Maintain inventory tree including maintaining existing inventory codes, making new codes and adding inventory code comments so managers and account managers know what programming is available to sell, sellout levels and rates for each program. Communicate any problems to Controller. Perform continuity duties, including processing production orders and coordinating production with the Programming Department. Provide reports to the Sales Staff. Download and enter copy instructions for barter contracts. Attend meetings as required or requested. Assist and perform work for other Sales Assistants as needed, including covering breaks. Ensure adequate administrative support at all times during the workday. Seek out ways to expand current skills and abilities; take initiative to learn new tasks, duties, technology and equipment. Offer ideas that would enhance or improve the way work is done. Report to work on time and work established schedule/hours. Ability to work other hours or alternate schedules as needed. Complete other duties as requested and needed.

Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. College degree preferred. 1+ yrs or more of strong, accurate data entry skills (alpha and numeric) in a clerical or sales setting highly preferred. MS Windows based computer experience required. Previous broadcast or traffic experience helpful. Must be disciplined with a solid work ethic. Ability to pay close attention to details, meet tight deadlines and be dedicated to quality performance.
