Network System Specialist

Department: Engineering/IT Status: Full Time; Non-Exempt End Date: Open Until Filled

Summary

As CapRadio's Network System Specialist you will perform professional level duties in the analysis, evaluation, design, development, documentation, maintenance and administration of local and wide area networks; to install, configure, manage and backup network servers, switches, firewalls routers and related devices.

Education and Experience

  • Cisco CCNA and Microsoft MCSA certifications required.
  • Associate's degree with major course work in computer science or a related field or three years of experience in the design, development, management and administration of local and wide area networked systems.
  • MS SQL

  • Vmware
  • Windows Server 2008, 2016
  • Active directory and DNS
  • Office 365
  • Cisco routers, firewalls
  • Scripting skills using Perl, Ruby or Python
  • Cloud environment (AWS or Azure)
Knowledgeable in:
  • Network infrastructure design, configuration and development
  • Network server configuration, administration and management
  • Network security
  • Database design, administration and security
  • Philosophy and practices of programming
  • Methods and techniques of developing and implementing training programs
  • Methods and techniques of developing systems technical documentation
  • Operational characteristics of personal computers and associated hardware, software and peripheral devices
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide support in the development and implementation of networked security systems including firewall design, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and administration
  • Identify unauthorized access and potential security risks
  • Implement and administer security strategies
  • Monitor network traffic to ensure capacity and functional efficiency
  • Install, configure and manage network file and application servers
  • Research and develop techniques for standardization across networked systems and computing environments
  • Design, administer and manage network databases
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and applications problems
  • Manage data backups across multiple systems and sites
  • Archive data to ensure the integrity and security of media and data
  • Perform technical writing duties in the development and production of system documentation and instructional or procedural manuals
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Salary And Benefits The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 We offer:
