Payroll/HR Assistant

Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position Posting Date: 10/03/2018

Position Description: American General Media Corporate Office located in Bakersfield, CA area has a current opening for a full-time, non-exempt position as Payroll/HR Assistant.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing time cards to ensure company is adhering to all state/federal compliance requirements.
  • Reviewing uploaded payroll information in Quickbooks for completeness and accuracy.
  • Reviewing all payroll forms to ensure all are completed and signed. Contacting supervisors regarding any missing information as needed.
  • Updating employee information as needed.
  • Processing new hire/termination data entry.
  • Maintaining EEO public file by reviewing paperwork received from multiple locations and ensuring all is complete and correct.
  • Preparing reports for 401k company.
  • Filing, scanning and other clerical duties as needed.
  • Will work closely with the Payroll and HR Department Heads to assist in any tasks they may need.

    Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with in-house payroll processing
  • Knowledge of current payroll laws
  • Proficient in MS Office Word and Excel
  • Accuracy and organizational skills essential
  • Quickbooks Enterprise experience a plus
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to mutli-task
  • Possess excellent time management skills

Strong team player with an ability to work with across departments Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and give attention to detail.     Key Account Manager/Sponsorship Sales

    Position Description: AGM California, Inc. - San Luis Obispo - is seeking Key Account Manager/Special Events Sponsorship Revenue Sales. This dual position responsibilities include developing, closing and maintaining advertising accounts for KKAL and acquisition of new sponsors and business partnerships for our AGM NTR events.

    Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Playing an integral role in new business pitches and hold responsibility for the effective on-boarding of new clients for KKAL. This includes nurturing meaningful relationships with existing clients and developing a new customer base that you will directly manage. Assist GM in guiding the KKAL sales team efforts to achieve and/or exceed established sales objectives. Position also includes creating NTR sponsorship opportunities for clients, prepare proposals to attract new sponsors, assist in the training of account executives on how to sell events, assist in the brainstorming of categories to call on for events, assist in managing NTR account lists, participate in building vendor relationships, assist sellers in growing current sponsor revenue share, assist in developing customized presentations for revenue opportunities.

    Selection Criteria: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from accredited college or university; or minimum two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Morning Announcer/Traffic Anchor

    Salem Media Group - Portland (KPDQ-AM/FM, KFIS, KRYP, KDZR, & KPAM) is currently seeking an experienced on-air morning announcer/host/newsreader/traffic reporter for 93.9 KPDQ, 104.1 The Fish, KDZR AM 1640 The Patriot, & AM 860 The Answer. At least five years of on-air experience and hands-on experience with digital audio editing and digital radio automation is preferred. The successful candidate must be able to multi-task, have a desire to work with Christian teaching and music programming, handle production duties, transmitter readings, and anchor traffic for the Salem Media Group of Portland stations. Previous news experience would be helpful, but not required. Experience with RCS NexGen Automation is preferred, as is experience with digital editing software such as Adobe Audition. A working knowledge of Teaching/Talk, CCM, and News/Talk formats is a plus. Must be willing to work full-time with some occasional personal and event appearances.

    Some of the job responsibilities include: live on-air announcer/host; produce short newscasts, traffic, and weather reports for any of our stations; interview ministry leaders and representatives; production and editing duties and be able to properly represent the radio station at outside venues.

Candidate must possess the ability to work in a team environment, possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to manage and schedule promotional personnel. Candidate will be responsible for every aspect of event coordination. An event coordinator must be competent in vendor management. Candidate must have the ability to successfully manage all elements within time limits and on budget. Must be able to work with event sponsors and clients to accurately identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction.

    Duties include but are not limited to: day to day operations of the promotion department, scheduling staff for station events, initiating and facilitating client related promotions. Candidate will work with sales department and Program Directors to come up with promotional opportunities. Candidate will also be able to create sales packages for promotional contests and company events.


  • 2-4 years promotion/event coordination experience preferred
