P-T Weekend News Anchor/Reporter
We're looking for someone who thinks beyond traditional mindsets - who is open to, and can contribute to, strategies to help re-shape how we do things - who understands the media ecosystem has changed immensely, and that we need to adjust to new expectations from news consumers.
The right candidate will have many of these capabilities, among others:
- Report, write, and present quality local content over multiple platforms.
- Natural instinct to ''own'' breaking-news situations.
- Desire to be on the scene to draw listeners into the story/experience.
- Good at being organized, telling stories, being naturally inquisitive, and able to embrace new technologies.
- Breed and foster newsmaker contacts.
- Ability to talk ''to'' the audience in a conversational way, and not ''at'' the audience with typical news-speak.
Send a demo of your best work along with a resume and examples of your writing style to jobs.peoria@mwcradio.com or mail to 331 Fulton Street, 12th Floor, Peoria, IL 61602.

News Director
The community may be smaller, but this certainly isn't small market radio.
Midwest Communication's award-winning full service/classic hits WTVB AM/FM is looking for our next newsroom leader. Our current veteran is retiring later this year and we're looking for someone to continue the reputation for outstanding local news coverage.
We're the primary source for news, high school sports, and community news in our county and the region on-air, but we also maintain an extremely powerful website that generates up to one million page views per month. If you have a play-by-play background, that's a bonus but not necessary.
We're looking for a take-charge person who loves to get involved in the community, and who will be backed by other Midwest Communication newsrooms around Michigan.
We offer a competitive salary and a full benefits package in a market that has a relatively low cost of living. Our county has over 100 lakes, good schools, a vibrant arts community, and is halfway between Chicago and Detroit.
Send an mp3 of your best work, a letter of interest, and your resume to Local Market Manager Ken Delaney at ken.delaney@mwcradio.com or mail to Ken's attention at 182 N. Angola Road, Coldwater, MI 49036.
A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required for this position.
Midwest Communications is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer by choice.
