Production & On-Air at KXOJ Tulsa
This is a leadership role where your creative decisions shape how market clients connect with Tulsa audiences. You'll have a private, sound-dampened office with professional gear in the same room as your desk in addition to multiple studios, a part-time assistant to help manage the flow, and the creative autonomy to make your best work happen.
The Opportunity
You'll lead commercial production across a fast-paced cluster of 5 formats, including 3 top-rated stations in the Tulsa market. That means creative variety every single day - different sounds, different audiences, different challenges. Bored isn't in the vocabulary here.
Need the perfect voice for a project? Tap into our network of talent across 11 other owned-and-operated markets, plus industry connections that give you options most markets dream about.
If you are also an experienced on-air talent, there could be a daily show waiting for you on one of our 3 music stations.
What You'll Do
Lead and manage commercial production
Produce compelling audio that elevates client campaigns and drives results
Manage production workflow and orders through vCreative software
Edit and mix audio using modern production software to broadcast-ready perfection
Collaborate with copywriters, sales team, and clients to bring concepts to life
Maintain production quality standards across all formats
Delegate and prioritize production tasks to meet deadlines efficiently
Who Thrives Here
You're a self-starter who doesn't need someone looking over your shoulder. Fast-paced, high-volume production energizes you instead of stressing you out. You're highly organized because you have to be - when you're juggling multiple projects with tight deadlines, chaos isn't an option.
But here's what really matters: you love the creative audio process. You geek out over compression ratios, you hear things other people miss, and you genuinely care about delivering audio messages that connect and compel.
You bring:
- Passion for audio storytelling and sonic craftsmanship
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Technical proficiency in modern audio editing software
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
- Drive to deliver exceptional work under deadline pressure
- Experience working with local direct clients
- On-air performance experience
- Proficiency in vCreative, RCS/Nexgen, Adobe Suite software
- Why Tulsa?
Tulsa offers a growing cultural scene that punches well above its weight, with live music venues, art districts, and a creative energy that rivals much larger markets. The cost of living means your salary actually goes somewhere.
The Gathering Place, consistently ranked as one of the best parks in America, gives you world-class green space right in the city. Add area lakes, championship golf courses, and the fact that Tulsa is the recognized capital of Route 66, and you've got a unique American city experience that balances urban culture with outdoor recreation.
Bottom line: you'll have the resources and lifestyle to do your best work without the financial stress and traffic nightmares of some other markets.
