Paralegal-Broadcasting/Media

RED APPLE MEDIA, part of the Red Apple Group, is searching for an experienced Paralegal. Red Apple Media owns and operates 77 Talk Radio WABC (New York City) and Talk Radio 107.1 WLIR-FM (Long Island) and is a growing media company. The role will be under the supervision of the General Counsel and will assist specifically with, but not limited to, broadcast / media law, talent contracts and intellectual property.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the General Counsel and enhance department effectiveness
  • Draft, review and file a variety of legal documents and correspondence such as talent, programming and service agreements
  • Assist in preparation and filing of documents and reports required by federal, state and local law
  • Maintains deal terms charts and legal department databases
  • Track and organize case documents to facilitate access and availability by legal team
  • Miscellaneous projects as they arise

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Familiarity with law, legal procedures, protocols, contract drafting and the day-to-day operations of an in-house legal department
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to work autonomously while remaining a strong and supportive member of the legal team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet all deadlines in a busy environment
  • Exceptional judgment to discern when to escalate issues
  • Superior research and analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite / Google Suite, computer databases and related software

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Qualification to be a Paralegal by certification, education or work experience
  • Previous experience in-house at a broadcasting or entertainment company or at an entertainment law firm a plus

Receptionist - New York City

Red Apple Media is searching for a Receptionist for 77 Talk Radio WABC (New York, NY) and Talk Radio 107.1 WLIR-FM (Hampton Bays, NY). Red Apple Media's broadcast facility is located in New York City in the Midtown East neighborhood. The receptionist is one of the public faces of a radio station. The receptionist will greet guests and interact with listeners on a busy switchboard in a friendly and professional manner. This is an entry-level position in broadcasting with the opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones, route calls and take accurate messages when required.
  • Provide callers with information about the station
  • Keep reception area organized
  • Provide clerical support as needed
  • Additional duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned

    Qualifications:

  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Google Apps Business Suite (Gmail / Docs / Sheets / Slides / Drive) or equivalent

    Phone Screener P/T (NYC)

    Red Apple Media is searching for Part-Time Phone Screeners for 77 Talk Radio WABC (New York, NY) and Talk Radio 107.1 WLIR-FM (Hampton Bays, NY). Phone Screeners help execute great radio programming by answering calls during live shows and interacting with listeners. Phone Screeners also post social media content during the show and post audio for on-demand / podcast listening. This is an entry-level position in radio broadcasting with the opportunity for growth.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer phones for show duration and work with show producer to get callers on-air.
  • Post to social media accounts during show and interact with followers
  • Pull and edit audio and post on station site and podcast platforms for on-demand listening
  • Complete forms for promotions department for all on-air giveaways during show

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Available to work assigned shifts including early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends and holidays

The HR Generalist will lead and direct the routine functions of the HR department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering benefits and leave, developing and enforcing company policies and practices, administering the college-level internship program and dealing with employee questions and concerns.

    DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy as it relates to current and future needs, retention, and succession planning.
  • Manage the staffing process, including job posting, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling managers on candidate selection, onboarding and employee separation.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation and training to foster positive attitude toward Company goals and culture.
  • Updates job requirements and descriptions for all positions and ensures compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

    Marketing Assistant

    RED APPLE MEDIA, part of the Red Apple Group, is seeking a full time Marketing Assistant for it's New York Area radio stations, 77 Talk Radio WABC (New York City) and Talk Radio 107.1 WLIR-FM (Long Island). The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic recent college graduate with some prior experience in the field, a passion for radio broadcasting and ''out of the box'' marketing.

    The Marketing Assistant will be responsible for helping to develop new marketing initiatives, building the station brands and audience as well as helping coordinate station-run events and promotions. As the stations' brand ambassador, the successful candidate will frequently engage with the public. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing all contests including developing rules, prize fulfillment and recordkeeping. The position also requires graphic design and social media skills.

    The Marketing Assistant will work with the Programming Department to research and book guests and create one-sheet summaries for talent to use in preparing for guest interviews.

    Applicants must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.

    Full Time Board Operator - NYC

    RESPONSIBILITIES: - Run radio broadcast board for live and pre-recorded local and syndicated programs plus news, traffic and weather breaks - Play all commercials and promos as scheduled - Maintain accurate commercial and transmitter logs - Monitor the technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming from master control room - Regulate timing of programs - Handle emergency inserts (e.g. breaking news updates, emergency alert system, amber alerts etc.) - Be familiar with EAS guidelines and air emergency alert system tests as indicated - Be familiar with FCC rules and protect the company's FCC license by censoring live programs and deleting words / phrases not permitted on air - Troubleshoot technical problems - Notify Engineering of technical malfunctions affecting quality of the broadcast
