PM Drive/Production Director

Vox AM/FM in Burlington, VT-Plattsburgh, NY has a rare position available at it's 100,000 watt Star 92.9. This station, which has one of the biggest signals in New England---reaching into Vermont, New York and Montreal---is seeking a PM Drive personality for the 4-7pm shift along with Production Director responsibilities. We need someone who wants to be a part of the Star lifestyle and can relate to our big 25-54 female and adult audience with a daily live shift, online presence and in-person appearances. The individual we seek will also need to love production and produce much of the cluster's commercials with our 9 person air staff. Vox is a locally owned company that still believes in live radio. Job Requirements A heavy focus on local community involvement and knowledge of what's happening in and around Central VA Inform and entertain without political bias Represent our stations/company with professionalism, integrity, and courtesy Professionally engage with listeners and clients during the on-air shift, at events/remotes, and in the community. Reflect the communities we serve in our programming and engagement; deliver quality, community-focused, live and local programming for our listeners. Assist business services team with developing creative advertising & promotions to meet client & organizational goals; assist with recruitment/development of client relationships as requested. Assist with updates to website & social media platforms per company, legal and regulatory requirements. Enjoy planning, resolving challenges, and working in a fun and fast-paced team environment. Manage syndicated talk shows and sporting events via satellite

Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Produce, write, and narrate programs on the radio.
  • Conduct interviews.
  • Operate equipment.
  • Answer phone calls.
  • Represent station at industry and community functions and events.
  • Determine news and information appropriate for broadcast.
  • Prepare newscasts and deliver them on-air.
  • Write and edit news copy.
  • Write and edit introductions and continuity for reports, actualities and other elements inserted within network programming.
  • Prepare Issues and Programs report.
  • Produce program segments.
  • Read news flashes.
  • Give weather and traffic conditions.
  • Record commercials.
  • Knowledge of NexGen a plus.
  • Knowledge of satellite programming/management necessary
