GM - Local Community Champion
KHUK - 106.5 The Hook, a station that covers 8 decades of music, and the most talked about station in the area. HookFM.com KITY - 102.9 Stinger FM, a Red Dirt/Texas Music only station. StingerFM.com and this station is tied in very closely with Llano County Independent School District. Football/Volleyball/Basketball/Baseball/Softball and more events the school has, we give as much coverage as possible. We even run the American and Texas Pledge of Allegiances from the elementary school classes at 7:20 weekday mornings.
There aren't any air talents on at this time, but that is something to build towards.
The GM of these stations is a visionary who can sell, build a team of sales peeps, form an internship program, develop promotions, and get involved with the local communities in the broadcast area.
You'll know the value of what you're offering to clients and understand that the client buys you before they buy air time on the stations.
You'll be able to run these stations as if they were your own.
The median income for the area is $38k. Starting salary for this position is $40k-65k depending on experience, plus a 30% override (net, net, net) each month.
While this offer isn't attractive compared to six figures from day one, the opportunity to do radio like it's supposed to be done, without consultants, without debt, without layers of oversight (you will essentially partner with my wife and me) and with the direct support of the owners.
While we aren't able to offer benefits at this time, this is something on the horizon that we will pursue with your help.
Relocation to the area is required. Relocation assistance is available.
The communities you'll want to look up are Marble Falls - Horseshoe Bay - Llano - Kingsland - Burnet - Spicewood (home of Willie Nelson) - Johnson City.
The stations sound fantastic, the sales revenue isn't consistently fantastic and there's plenty of room for improvement.
